Flower girl dresses

I made these for my sisters wedding in June for my daughter and niece. They were cute~didn't quite make it up the aisle by themselves, but cute non-the-less!

Rainy day projects

So, I started my day planning to get ssooo much done! I had hoped to start and finish the curtains for our bedroom... then I went on fabric.com. I found some great fabric on sale that I liked BETTER, and ordered it! I had planned on making plain black panels with a white 3" border around the sides and top... this was after I went from store to store looking for a non floral, simple black and white print. Of course I found it after I purchased material! It's a black background with white imperfect circles- not too many, and not too little. It's perfect! So now I will joyfully wait for the material to come, and hopefully have them completed next week!

I told the girls this morning, that I would take them to the park this afternoon... then the rain started falling and it really poured! Earlier this week I purchased a book from Value Village with some neat projects to make with (or for) kids. Since the rain didn't look like it was going to stop anytime soon, I pulled out some scrap material, took out the book, and asked the girls to choose an animal and material. My older daughter wanted a Mouse. Note that this was my first attempt at something like this. It flopped... literally! I didn't stuff it enough, and made my share of mistakes! I never finished it~ I plan on starting over on another rainy day. (maybe I should have followed directions)

So after my younger daughter went for a nap, I embarked on her Pig. I made sure I stuffed it well, and followed the directions.

I put it beside her, and she promptly awoke, saw the piggy, sat up, grabbed it, and tucked it under her arm. It hasn't left her grasp since... and she's found it quite helpful for wiping her nose, and her face... I think it will have it's share of washes!

till next time...

Sleep sacks, coats and more!

I know it's been a long time since my last post. I actually haven't touched the sewing machine much in the past few weeks. I made matching coats for twin girls who turned 4. I asked if I could make something for them. Their Mom picked out the colors, and they turned out well! Unfortunately, I forgot to take pics of them, so I will have to ask their Mom for some. I will post them in the future!
The next week, I made a few sleep sacks, and shipped them off.

Then it was time to get ready for vacation. We took our family to the Oregon Coast for a week. We had a lot of fun- I underestimated how much work it is to leave home and set up somewhere else, but we made it! We walked some endless beaches, went sand railing, and had some R&R.
Now that we are back home, I am getting inspired to try a few new projects... after I finish some curtains for our bedroom. I love so many fabrics out there right now! I will keep you posted on the projects I accomplish... until then...
