The Sleep Sacks

If you haven't gathered by now, a lot of the Sleep Sacks are not one of a kind. Although I take pics of each and every one, I do not post them all on here~ there's only so many Round About Sleep Sacks allowed on a blog right?
I am constantly looking for new fabrics that will help keep sewing exciting. Everyone is hand made with a lot of care going into each stitch, and each are unique. I enjoy what I do~ my week off started getting boring with out sewing, so I set up an area and completed a few- which ended up being a good thing since when Monday rolled around, I had orders for 7 more!
Anyway, here are some pics of those, and soon there will be a few more from new fabrics.
Have a good week!

A week in Review

So even though I booked last week off, I still made 4 Sleep Sacks. Turns out my kids like to entertain them selves, and actually get a long really well! The Reno's aren't complete yet, we still have to dry wall, texture and paint the sewing room, but the girls room and hall way are done! No pics yet, they will come. We're definitely exhausted, and I don't plan on doing the other room for a few weeks since I need to catch up on sewing!
. I found some fabric that I fell in love with, and picked the light green for the walls in the girls room. Don't you like it? I want to make quilts, curtains, and bed skirts with them. I want the quilt to be simple but nice. I'm thinking strips of fabric different widths, and quilted just on either side of the seam. What do you think? The main fabric will be the Pink Bubbles (center one).

100 Sleep Sacks sold!!!!!

Today the 100th Sleep Sack sold! I'm so excited! Funny thing was, I had miscounted, so when I thought we were in the 90's (92) it was actually 87... woops! Either way, it's now 100! Heidi Kobes won the draw- she is a Facebook fan. Next draw happens when we reach 150 fans on Facebook!

On another note, the reno's are going great! We finished sanding, priming and texturing (american thing) today, and plan on priming and painting tomorrow! So excited! Then next week we move on to the new sewing room. Oh- I even bought a "new to me" sewing table today! With a little TLC, it will be ready for me to use once the rooms done!
Take care, Karen

Give away central

I finally decided to start a page on Facebook. I thought I might get too busy trying to manage Etsy, this blog, my family blog and a Facebook page, but thought I would give it a try. I'll do my best! Once I hit 150 fans I'll do a give away!

I'm also having a giveaway once I sell 100 Sleep Sacks~ I won't give you the exact number, but we're close!!! (in the 90's) The 100 th person will receive 50% off, and a fan on Facebook, or follower here will randomly be chosen to receive a free pre made Sleep Sack of their choice... and no worries, I have 22 cut out and ready to sew- I just need to find the time to do it!

I booked this week off for some home renovations~ my sewing room is under construction. We decided to switch the girls room and sewing/exercise room around, and rip out the old (1958) built in closet that took up an entire wall, and was over 2 feet wide. Now the girls should have plenty of space in their bedroom to put some of their toys. My 4 yr old insisted that her favorite color is pink, so we're leaning toward a pink/brown room for them... I'm thinking maybe using pink jack as the curtains/bed skirts, and using it in their quilts. I haven't had the opportunity to make them a cutesy room yet since we started renovating our home 3.5 yrs ago. The end is in sight now! Hopefully we finish mudding and painting in the next 2 weeks or so. My sewing stuff is now in 3 different rooms in my house~ not a good thing since it's only 1650 sq foot 3 bedroom house. I'm sure we'll survive- I just hope I don't get too frustrated trying to find fabric, zippers, the pattern... and the scissors! ~already can't find my tape measure :(
Anyway, I hope you are all well, and be sure to check out my Facebook page here.
