I really like these fabrics... as I was walking past the quilt fabrics section, I saw these waiting in the carts to be put away. They looked sssoo good together, I thought I'd better get some. Best part was, I didn't have to stress trying to figure out which fabrics matched (in my opinion that's the hardest part about quilting- finding fabrics that "go")
So I put them in my cart, not really knowing what I would do with them... but that didn't last too long. At the cutting counter I remembered a friend (prego with #4) telling me that she never had a crib set for her other kids, and really wanted one for this baby. She is due beginning of March, and had planned on making a quilt herself. I knew at that point, that she hadn't been to the fabric store yet.
The light went on in my head" Why don't I buy this, and surprise her with a crib set?!?" So that's what I'm doing. I'm still working on the crib skirt, and need to make another fitted bottom sheet, but the rest is finished! I love how it turned out, and hope she will like it too. If she doesn't like it, or has found one herself, I'll be putting it up for sale! I'll let you know what she thinks, and can hopefully use her crib for pics since I don't have mine set up any more.

Diaper bag
A diaper bag for te same customer- it's a little different from her purse- a different pocket inside- 1 long adjustable strap, and this one has some width to it. I like it just the same!

Baby Blanket
A customer had ordered a matching hat, sleep sack and blanket- I had to order more fabric for the blanket and of course the store was out of stock. She ordered it back in December, and fortunately didn't need it till February. I tried every week to order it online, and every time I was in the store, I would look for it. Well, baby arrived early, so we came up with this blanket. She had wanted it to be the Pink damask on the front, and pink flannel on the back. I mailed it out, and no kidding- 2 days later I was browsing the cotton section, and came across the pink damask- 2 bolts of it! I tried to explain my excitement to the lady beside me- but she just thought I was crazy! My customer liked the blanket, so that is good, and it will keep baby nice and warm!
2 cute dresses for 2 cute girls
These dresses were made for 2 girls who are friends with m girls. their Mom just had a baby, and she wanted new church outfits for the 2 older ones, so I came up with these. Next time I make them, I will be putting zippers in them so they aren't so wide in the bodice. The one with the pink bodice has the zipper, and the other one doesn't. I am making my girls 2 new ones this week, so we'll see how it goes!
Mikenzie mid jump- she gets so excited, and starts jumping everywhere, so I had to catch her before "takeoff"

Doll diapers
Aren't these adorable?
My cousin asked me if I could make her daughter a few doll diapers. Once I started, I couldn't stop! There were some trial and errors- especially when it came to the velcro. At first I was making the hook part too long, and the loop too short- then I cut the hook part to about 3/4 of an inch long, and extended the loop to as long as the front of the diaper- much better. I think my daughters friends will be receiving a few of these!
Want a few? Leave me a comment, and I'll pick a winner on on Thursday the 11th at noon. Make sure you leave an email address so I can contact you!
Take care, Karen
